Navigating the workers’ compensation system in Kentucky

On Behalf of | Mar 1, 2022 | Workers’ Compensation

If you have been injured on the job in Kentucky your first thoughts, beyond your immediate medical needs, are likely about how you will cover for the income you will lose if you cannot return to work for a period of time. In most situations, people who find themselves in this type of situation will likely be able to submit a claim through the workers’ compensation system. However, navigating this system can oftentimes seem complicated.

In theory, the workers’ compensation system is supposed to be a “no-fault” type of system, in which it doesn’t matter whose fault it was that a worker was injured on the job – that worker is still supposed to get benefits. However, the reality is that many claims for workers’ compensation are often thoroughly investigated for elements such as illegal drug use or misconduct on the part of the injured worker. Even the paperwork alone for submitting a workers’ compensation claim can seem complicated for most people.

Getting through the process

At our law firm, we understand that injured workers are looking for answers, not more question. Injured workers are looking for a way to, at least partially, replace their wages while they recover their health, and they are also looking for appropriate medical care. We work with our clients to attempt to make sure they are getting all they deserve throughout the workers’ compensation process.
