As most of you know, Landrum & Shouse LLP lost a great Partner and friend in Mark Hinkel this past weekend due to a tragic bicycle accident. Mark was with L&S for over 30 years and had recently been named Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America. He was energetic, full of life, loved his family and always had a smile. The loss was unexpected and tragic and our thoughts and prayers go to the family during this difficult time.

Lexington and Louisville Civil And Business Litigation Attorneys

The attorneys at Landrum & Shouse, LLP, a law firm with offices in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, provide a wide range of civil litigation services to individuals, businesses, governmental agencies and organizations. As the fourth largest law firm in Kentucky, we have the resources, knowledge and experience to undertake even the most complex litigation.

Landrum & Shouse, LLP traces its history from pre-World War II legal service by its founding partners. For nearly 40 years following military service, the late Weldon Shouse and the late Charles Landrum, Jr., together with their firms, practiced law throughout Kentucky before merging in 1984 to become what is now known as Landrum & Shouse, LLP. The resulting firm was built upon the well-deserved reputations of its founders as experienced, knowledgeable and hard-working Lexington and Louisville civil litigation lawyers.

Accomplished Louisville and Lexington Business Litigation Lawyers

A high percentage of our partners have been named as Super Lawyers. Others have received AV ratings* in Martindale-Hubbell's peer-rating system. Still others are members of legal organizations such as the Trucking Insurance Defense Association (TIDA) and the National Railroad Trial Counsel organization. One of our attorneys, Pierce Hamblin, was named one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Kentucky by Kentucky Super Lawyers.

In addition to our distinguished attorneys, our firm is known for its high-quality, affordable services, even during bad economic times. As founder and managing partner William Shouse has said, "We are a value-oriented firm."

Trial Attorneys Handling All Types of Litigation

Our legal practice focuses on litigation. As trial attorneys, we are especially sensitive to the high cost, in terms of both money and time, of courtroom battles. Consequently, we seek to become involved in matters before they are scheduled for trial; this strategy often results in a matter being dismissed or referred to some type of alternative dispute resolution. Our approach has been effective in cases ranging from family law and divorce disputes to mineral law conflicts and product liability defense.

White Collar Criminal Defense

For over two decades, Landrum & Shouse has maintained a statewide and regional practice in complex criminal defense for clients appearing in federal and state court. Despite the profile of some of the cases handled by our firm, it is our belief that the most successful criminal defenses should not be high profile. We achieve our best results at the investigative stage, before an indictment has been returned and in the headlines.
