Abby Hammond, daughter of Partner, Mike Hammond & wife Emily, was named Gatorade Kentucky Softball Player of the Year.
As a freshman at Lexington Catholic, Abby pitched three no hitters this season and was named the 11th Region Tournament MVP following a victory against Lafayette that clinched the team’s entrance into the state tournament. With Abby’s pitching, Lexington Catholic went all the way to the State Championship Game where they barely lost to Ballard. In numerous interviews, Abby never took credit for her talents and always referred to the wins as team wins.
